As a cornerstone and pre-eminent strategic event in the CAPA Summit global series, we are pleased to announce the return of the CAPA Australia Pacific Aviation Summit for 2020 on 2 September. For the first time, the Summit will evolve into a virtual event beaming in a high calibre of speakers from all corners of the globe. This Summit will provide a critical platform for some of the most esteemed thought-leaders in the aviation and travel industry to share their insights and perspectives on our road to recovery, not only for Australia Pacific region but also the entire world. |
Recovery: According to analysis from the World Travel & Tourism Council on previous major viral epidemics, the average recovery time for people returning to travel was 19.4 months. However, the organisation believes that with the right response and management, recovery could begin to show in as little as 10 months. With a sound domestic market in the Australia Pacific region a swift recovery is possible however the threat of a second wave of infections has left doubt on the already hurt industry. What next steps are available in the region?
Resilience: The Summit will take stock of the aviation industry and provide a CAPA Global Outlook led by CAPA’s own Chairman Emeritus, Peter Harbison. Followed by robust discussions and lively debates, we will seek answers to some of the crucial questions surrounding the future of Australian tourism. How can we rebuild our domestic market? How can regional airlines and airports manage expected growth? How do we ensure traveller safety across the whole travel journey? How does the industry restore traveller confidence?
